E-Waste Collection Day

As part of its commitment to environmental sustainability and responsible resource management, UMPSA has successfully implemented the E-Waste Collection Day initiative across its campuses. Originally introduced within selected administrative zones, the program has since been expanded into a university-wide initiative involving all faculties, departments, and campus communities.
The initiative provides a centralized platform for the collection of obsolete, damaged, and unused electrical and electronic equipment, ensuring that electronic waste is managed through proper recycling and recovery channels. By preventing hazardous e-waste from being disposed of in general waste streams or landfills, the program helps minimize environmental pollution and promotes responsible waste handling practices.
Through active participation from staff and students, the campaign raises awareness of sustainable consumption and disposal practices while supporting UMPSA's transition towards a circular economy. The initiative contributes to the university's sustainability agenda by encouraging resource recovery, reducing environmental risks associated with electronic waste, and fostering a culture of environmental responsibility throughout the campus community.
