These dedicated research centers, staffed by committed full-time equivalents (FTE) specialists (academic and non-academic), actively contribute beyond research spheres which include curriculum development, teaching, and supervision within both undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

Centre of Excellence for Advanced Fluid and Processes The Centre of Excellence for Advanced Research in Fluid Flow (CARiFF), established in 2011, focused on advanced fluid flow research including pipeline and drag reduction, multiphase mixing, oil and gas, computational fluid dynamics, and reactive flow. The research group associated with CARiFF received numerous national and international awards and recognition for their contributions to fluid flow research. Over 20 patents related to fluid flow enhancement in pipelines were registered prior to the centre's establishment. In 2020, CARiFF was rebranded as the Centre for Research in Advanced Fluid and Processes (Fluid Centre) to reflect its expanded research scope. |

Centre for Automotive Engineering The Centre for Automotive Engineering (formerly known as Automotive Engineering Centre) was established in 2008, initially proposed as the Automotive Development Centre by the Automotive Focus Group. After approval by the UMP Board of Directors, it was named the Automotive Excellence Centre (AEC) and later underwent rebranding in 2010 to expand its capabilities. Collaborations were established with various automotive industry players and overseas universities during this time. The name changed to Automotive Engineering Centre in 2010 and finally to Centre for Automotive Engineering (Automotive Centre) in 2020 to align with UMP's (currently known as UMPSA) Strategic Planning for becoming a 5-Star World-Class Technological University. |

Excellence for Artificial Intelligence & Data Science Centre The Artificial Intelligence & Data Science Centre aim to establish a central hub dedicated to conducting high-quality research in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Data Analytics (DA). Our goal is to foster opportunities for both intra- and inter-disciplinary research across faculties within the University, as well as collaborative endeavors with external partners. We will concentrate our expertise on Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, addressing specific industrial growth needs in the East-Coast region and beyond.
