Reuse, Reduce, Recycle

A total of 270 staff and students of Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) has joined the launch of the Solid Waste Management Program and 3R held on December 10, 2015 at the Library of UMP. The event was organized by the Steering Committee Quality Environment (5S) and the University Committee. Quality Environment (5S) UMP Library in cooperation with the Solid Waste Management and Public Cleansing (SWCorp) Pekan and Kuantan Municipal Council (MPK). The opening ceremony was officiated by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research & Innovation), Prof. Dr. Mashitah Mohd Yusoff. Also present were the President of Pekan District Council, Dato 'Haji Ahmad Salhi Abdul Latif, Acting Registrar, Mr. Abd Rahman Hj Shafi'i, Chief Librarian, Haji Ruslan Che Pee, Chief Deputy Registrar of the Department of Research and Innovation, Datin Fazia Ali and Director of Quality Management & Rankings, Corporate & Qiality Affairs Department, Mrs. Kartina Johan. UMP has joined 'UI Green Metric' which is one of the top five world ranking (which is recognized by the Ministry of Education. There are six clusters in UI GreenMetric supports initiatives in greening the and one of its are Waste Cluster (WS).
