UMPSA Students' Representative Council

The UMPSA Students' Representative Council of Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) consists of 27 students elected through an official student vote during the election. For the 2024/2025 session, the UMPSA Students' Representative Council is led by Muhammad Haykal Halid from the Faculty of Mechanical & Automotive Engineering Technology. This council comprises three main departments:

  1. Department of Communication & Corporate Affairs
  2. Department of Student Development
  3. Department of Student Services

UMPSA Students' Representative Council is also involved in various important meetings within UMPSA:

  2. Sustainability Campus Working Committee
  3. Parlimen Mahasiswa Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah

UMPSA SENATE MEETING
UMPSA Students' Representative Council involve as invited members in UMPSA Senate Meeting. The Role of Students in Senate Meetings is to voice student concerns and views on academic issues, welfare, and university development. Students who serve as representatives in the Senate play roles in:

  1. Representing Student Voices
  2. Discussing Academic Policies
  3. Raising Student Issues
  4. Helping Shape Policies
  5. Leadership and Experience

STUDENTS ROLE IN SUSTAINABILITY CAMPUS WORKING COMMITTEE
The Campus Sustainability Committee meets four times a year. The voices and needs of students in campus development are also considered and given attention to ensure the best facilities are provided for students throughout their studies. President of the UMPSA Students' Representative Council or its representative is a permanent member of the meeting. As per table below the membership of the President of the UMPSA Students' Representative Council in the Sustainability Working Committee is number 12.

 

PARLIMEN MAHASISWA UNIVERSITI MALAYSIA PAHANG AL-SULTAN ABDULLAH

The first official session of the Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) Student Parliament 2025 was successfully held on 12 to 13 April 2025 and marking an important step in strengthening student participation in university governance.

The session, led by members of the UMPSA Students' Representative Council, focused on four key areas: academics, student welfare, student development and empowerment, and policy amendments including current student issues. These topics were discussed and debated in an open, structured, and democratic environment.

In the academic pillar, 7 out of 8 proposals were approved, resulting in an 87.5% approval rate. One proposal was rejected after a detailed debate session. For the student welfare pillar, all 7 proposals were unanimously accepted, showing full agreement on the importance of student well-being.

The student development and empowerment pillar saw all 9 proposals passed, reflecting a strong commitment to nurturing student leadership and personal growth. In the policy and current issues pillar, 8 out of 9 proposals were approved, with one failing to gain majority support.

The session also featured two-way discussions, question-and-answer sessions, and the exchange of ideas between students' representatives. The event ran smoothly and professionally, proving that the Student Parliament serves as an effective platform for students to voice their opinions and influence decisions at the university level.

UMPSA Student Parliament will continue to serve as an official platform for advancing student aspirations. MPP UMPSA will follow up on the outcomes of this session in discussions with university management, ensuring that student voices are heard and acted upon.

With the theme “Carrying the Vision, Shaping the Legacy,” the Student Parliament is set to continue championing a student-led future at UMPSA through inclusive, holistic, and evidence-based efforts.
