SAFE MEDICINE DISPOSAL FOR ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY

UMPSA implements a Safe Medicine Disposal Initiative to prevent environmental pollution and protect public health by ensuring the proper disposal of unused and expired medications. The program is conducted in collaboration with the Malaysia Ministry of Health, the University Health Centre (PKU), UMPSA, GoodScience Sdn. Bhd., and MyMediSAFE.

Designated collection points are provided on campus, allowing students and staff to safely return unused medicines. The collected pharmaceuticals are managed in accordance with national medical waste disposal guidelines. The initiative also includes awareness campaigns on responsible medicine use, safe storage, and the environmental risks of improper disposal. Through this program, UMPSA promotes responsible waste management practices while supporting environmental sustainability and community health.
