CAR FREE DAY

The programme was organised with the primary objective of promoting a healthy and active lifestyle while simultaneously raising awareness of urban sustainability and environmental responsibility among participants. By encouraging walking, running, and cycling activities, the programme also contributed to reducing traffic congestion and carbon emissions, supporting the broader agenda of sustainable urban mobility.
A wide range of engaging and interactive activities were offered, including aerobics, Fun Run, Fun Ride, Giant Puzzle, SDG Quiz, Treasure Hunt (SDG Race), and a lucky draw. These activities were designed not only to promote physical well-being but also to enhance participants’ understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through experiential learning and teamwork, making sustainability concepts more accessible and enjoyable.
The programme was further enhanced by the active participation of the Centre for Sustainability Development (SDC UMPSA), alongside directors and representatives from Poly-Tech MARA College Kuantan, MARA Higher Skills College Kuantan, Pacific College Kuantan, Kuantan Community College, and the Mokhtar Dahari National Football Academy. Their presence added value to the event by strengthening inter-institutional collaboration, knowledge sharing, and community engagement, while fostering a spirit of partnership in advancing sustainability initiatives. Overall, the programme successfully created a vibrant platform that combined health, education, and sustainability in a holistic and impactful manner.
