FINANCIAL AND WELFARE ASSISTANCE

The initiative to support students with disabilities in higher education institutions is a comprehensive programme led by the Ministry of Higher Education aimed the equitable access to education, resources, and opportunities for all students, regardless of physical or learning challenges. This initiative reflects a commitment to inclusive education, social equity, and the empowerment of students with disabilities to achieve their full academic and personal potential.
Financial Assistance for Persons with Disabilities (BKOKU) and the Special Education Programme (PPK) for new and continuing students via the Persons with Disabilities Sponsorship System (SisPO) for the year 2026.
The Persons with Disabilities Sponsorship System (SisPO) provides a structured platform for eligible students to apply for financial and educational support tailored to their specific needs. The financial assistance under BKOKU is designed to alleviate the economic burden of students with disabilities, covering essential educational costs such as tuition, learning materials, and adaptive equipment. Meanwhile, the Special Education Programme offers additional academic support, including personalized learning plans, mentorship, and access to inclusive learning facilities, ensuring that PWD students can participate fully in their academic programmes.
Collaboration between the Inclusive Services Centre and the Centre for Mathematical Sciences in deliberating the verification of Inclusive Student status at the faculty level.
A discussion session was held between the Inclusive Services Centre and the Centre for Mathematical Sciences to strengthen support for inclusive students with disabilities. The meeting focused on the verification and registration process of inclusive students to ensure systematic delivery of academic support and welfare assistance. Key support includes flexible teaching and assessment methods, accessible facilities, assistive technology, and counselling services to help students succeed academically.
Siswa+ 2025 Programme
A total of 400 selected students received laptop donations worth RM1,080,000, presented by Prime Minister YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, alongside Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) YB Dato’ Setia Dr. Haji Mohd Na’im Mokhtar and Minister of Higher Education YB Dato’ Seri Diraja Dr. Zambry Abdul Kadir.
Among the beneficiaries, 20 students from UMPSA received laptops, including Nur Aliya Sakinah binti Saifol Rasli, a Year 1 Inclusive student from the Faculty of Computing. Her mother, Puan Siti Solehah, expressed gratitude to UMPSA’s Department of Student Affairs and Alumni (JHEPA) for coordinating the support.
