Recycle Centre UMPSA

UMPSA has 2 Recycle Center, each one at campus; UMPSA Pekan and UMPSA Gambang. The centers manage collection of recyclable material & composting at UMPSA. Compost & Recycle Centre in UMPSA Pekan is equipped with rainwater harvesting and powered by solar energy. Both centers manage organic & inorganic waste in UMPSA. This centre functioning as: 

  1. Collection Centre: Recycling centers receive materials from others department inside UMPSA. Common recyclables include paper, plastics, metals, glass, and electronic waste.
  2. Sorting: Once collected, materials are sorted by type.
  3. Processing: After sorting, materials are cleaned and processed. For example, plastic might be shredded and melted, glass crushed and melted, and paper pulped. These processes turn recyclables into raw materials that can be used for manufacturing new products.
  4. Distribution: The processed materials are sold to manufacturers who use them to create new products, such as recycled paper, plastic bottles, metal cans, or construction materials.
