Rain Gutter System

All university buildings are equipped with rain gutters. Rainwater from the rooftop will flow into the rain gutter and enter the drain and finally reach the lake. Water from lake will be pumped for the watering purpose.

Rainwater Harvesting System
Most of the building at UMPSA equipped with Rainwater Harvesting System for general purposes.

Recycle Water Irrigation
Pump is installed at Lake to supply water for the watering system at the nearest tree planting area and landscaping projects.

Eco-friendly container building
The eco-friendly container building is made from recycled material and is environment-friendly. It is the latest project undertaken that involved building basic module made of used container that has been modified and upgraded. The modular craft pilot project is about the construction of 72 rooms for lecturers in the Gambang Campus. The construction uses a type of thermal insulation coating that can reduce the temperature inside the container. The coating can lower the temperature inside the container by 8 oC to 10 oC. The project also uses eco-friendly green bricks that are produced by UMP Innovest Sdn Bhd.

Water Efficient Appliances Usage
Apply building standards to minimize water use. Water appliances refer to devices and fixtures that use water for various purposes. Water-conscious building standards aim to reduce water consumption and promote sustainable water management in construction and design. These standards provide guidelines and best practices for architects, builders, and developers to create structures that minimize water use throughout their lifecycle. Efficient appliances help a lot in sustainable water management.

UMPSA has systematic irrigation system. All planting site has its own system and operated automatically.
We used water tapping and do regularly checking to avoid any leakages in all facilities.
Using timer to watering plant can save water and cost. Watering plants occur at different time for each area to avoid water pressure problem. Sources for watering is from the nearest Lake.
We are using Dual Toilet Economy Flush in our toilet. We educate our user be wise in water consumption.

Most of building in UMPSA Pekan equipped with tank for collecting rain water. Rain water are used for general cleaning and planting irrigation.
