UMPSA Launches Carbon Free Electric Vehicles Sustainable Practices
In line with the country's green agenda, Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) launched the use of electric vehicles in leveraging technology and innovation for the good of the future and generations to come.
In applying technology and adopting a better lifestyle is to reduce the carbon footprint that will provide innovative solutions to the energy industry. Through this initiative, two electric buses and two electric vans with EV charging stations were introduced at UMPSA to promote the use of low-carbon and energy-efficient smart vehicles.
Taking place today was the handing over of the electric vehicle key replica presented by the Executive Director, Go Automobile Manufacturing Sdn Bhd, Wan Ahmad Wan Omar to the UMPSA Vice Chancellor, Prof Dato Ts Dr Yuserrie Zainuddin, witnessed by the Minister of Higher Education, Dato' Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin at the parking lot. Ministry of Higher Education in conjunction with KPT Open Day.
Also with the Director General of Higher Education, Prof. Dr. Azlinda Azman, Deputy Secretary General (Management and Development), KPT, Datuk Dr. Mohd Zabri Yusoff and Deputy Secretary General (Policy), KPT, Dato' Dr. Haji Megat Sany bin Megat Ahmad Supian.
UMPSA implemented a Sustainability campaign to raise awareness among citizens to take care of the environment as the university realizes its desire to become a Sustainable Campus.
According to UMPSA Vice Chancellor, Prof Dato Ts Dr Yuserrie Zainuddin, UMPSA has now achieved encouraging progress in efforts to empower sustainable practices through various university programs implemented.
"In an effort to achieve the Goal of Sustainable Campus Development through Key Performance Indicator (KPI) 5C(2), UMPSA has successfully achieved the sustainable campus development progress target of 86.8 percent in the Third Quarter (Q3) of 2023, exceeding the set target of 78 percent.
"This shows UMPSA's commitment in developing a sustainable and sustainable campus," he said.
Therefore, this year, the Sustainable Campus Initiative will be further boosted with various activities such as tree planting, energy and resource saving and carbon reduction in UMPSA.
This initiative is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
