GREENOVATION — HACKATHON x ECO-SOAP

The Eco Campus: Greenovation programme was successfully implemented in conjunction with the 20th Convocation Expo of Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA). The programme was the result of a strategic collaboration between the UMPSA EcoNexus Club and the Centre for Sustainability Development (SDC), aimed at strengthening the university’s sustainability agenda.
The programme featured two main components, namely a Hackathon and Eco-Soap, providing participants with opportunities to explore ideas and green innovations that generate positive impact within the campus community. Through these activities, students were exposed to the importance of integrating sustainability values into daily life, in line with UMPSA’s aspiration to become a sustainable campus.
Notably, the programme also involved the participation of 80 students from SK Bunut Rendang, who were given the opportunity to learn basic sustainability concepts and green practices through interactive learning activities and demonstrations on the production of eco-friendly soap.
According to the organisers, the Eco Campus: Greenovation programme was not only aimed at raising awareness of environmental issues but also served as a platform to cultivate a culture of green innovation among university students and the surrounding community.
