PLOGGING PROGRAM AT TANJUNG GOSONG

The EcoNexus Club of UMPSA, Pekan Campus, in collaboration with Tanah Makmur Berhad (TMB), SWCorp and Alam Flora, organized the Plogging Programme at Tanjung Gosong, Pekan, Pahang 2025. The programme takes placed on Friday, 14 November 2025

Organised as the third series in conjunction with Antarctica Day 2025, the programme aimed to promote environmental responsibility while strengthening strategic collaboration between the university, government agencies and industry partners.

A total of 190.2 kg of waste was collected along less than 500 metres of coastline, with the highest composition comprising plastic/rigid waste (27.5 kg), followed by glass (11 kg) and plastic bottles and paper (1.5 kg). The collected data will be used for waste audits and trend analysis to support future waste reduction initiatives. The programme also emphasised public awareness of responsible waste-disposal practices among beach visitors.
