5.3.3 Indicator: Women’s access schemes

UMPSA is deeply committed to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion by ensuring equitable access, participation, and success for women across all levels of study. Several key initiatives and support mechanisms are in place to foster women’s academic and professional development.

(i) Women’s Mentoring Schemes

UMPSA implements structured Women’s Mentoring Schemes aimed at empowering female students through continuous academic guidance, professional coaching, and personal development support. Students are paired with academic staff, alumni, and industry professionals to build career readiness, leadership, and confidence.

(ii) Scholarships and Financial Support

UMPSA encourages and facilitates women’s participation in scholarships and financial assistance programmes—including internal awards and external sponsorships from government, industry, and NGOs. These opportunities reduce economic barriers and enable talented women from diverse backgrounds to pursue their studies.
