REACHING NET ZERO COMMITMENT BY 2030

Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) has been recognized for its efforts in sustainable and low-carbon urban development through the 2030 Low Carbon City Challenge (LCC 2030 Challenge). UMPSA Pekan Campus achieved a 4-diamond rating, while UMPSA Gambang Campus earned a 2-diamond rating.

The award was presented by the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, YB Nik Nazmi bin Nik Ahmad, with UMPSA’s Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Prof Ts Dr. Aida Mustapha, accepting it on behalf of the university.

The 2030 Low Carbon City Challenge aims to reduce carbon emissions in cities nationwide. UMPSA Pekan Campus has reduced its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 24.74% since 2019, while UMPSA Gambang Campus has reduced GHG emissions by 6.19%. Both campuses have made significant progress in carbon absorption and sustainable resource management.
