Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) has implemented several initiatives on building upgrading for high energy efficiency in line with Pelan Kampus Lestari. UMPSA has a certified energy manager for energy efficiency implementation and monitoring.

Building passive cooling design and material

The ventilation brick is used for the new mosque building at UMP. Installing air bricks allows air to flow under the floorboards, helping regulate temperature and thus minimize energy usage for cooling down. The unique passive cooling design of the building itself increases the comfort level with minimal energy consumption.
