Laboratory Wastewater Control

Each faculty in UMPSA applies the Chemical Waste Management Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), which count from laboratory waste control, implemented through a segregation and pre-treatment system to neutralize chemical residues prior to disposal.

This process involved step-by-step processes for handling, storing, labeling, and disposing of laboratory chemicals. These procedures are routinely
audited and monitored by the OSHE Unit to ensure full compliance and to prevent any accidental discharge of hazardous materials into the drainage or natural water system.

Through a combination of
technical controls, administrative SOPs, and continuous monitoring, UMPSA has established a comprehensive pollution prevention ecosystem that effectively safeguards campus and surrounding water bodies.
